The Hierophant – Kindness Untamed

The Hierophant

Art & Content by: @kindnessuntamed

The Hierophant is the sixth card in the Major Arcana. It represents a hunger for knowledge, whether in practical or spiritual realm. It’s time to join a class, further your studies, your teacher will soon appear. It can also represent following tradition and convention. The reversed can often mean a breakdown or rejection of traditional values but can also lead to freedom and challenging the status quo.

Widow Beth as The Hierophant

Dressed in lacy Victorian black dresses, Widow Beth is one of the sister wives to the demon Bulshar. Her behavior is extremely traditional and opposite of the many modern and empowered women presented in the storyline. While the Hierophant card itself is not a negative card, there are similarities to Widow Beth for having religious values with plenty of ties to the supernatural realm.
